This year for the spring concert the Program Activities Council (PAC) have truly booked someone special, the one and only Elmo.
After a student vote for this year’s concert theme to be rap, PAC has done it again and booked the greatest spoken word artist, Elmo from Sesame Street.
“A band that evokes childhood,” said Elmo’s manager “After hearing their demo tape ‘Elmo’s Song’ I knew they were going to revolutionize the world of music.”
The internet’s bad boy, Elmo was recently in trouble for his very controversial and public feud with rock legend and fiance to award winning ballerina Zoë, Rocco, also from Sesame Street. After sitting down with Zoë to ask about the feud, this is all she had to say.
“Rocco said a little more shoobie and a little less doobie,” said Zoë.
Multiple publications have interviewed and covered the pair’s dispute including The New York Times and NBC, and they even appeared as guests on The Tonight Show for a public apology that went horribly wrong.
Despite this, the public has taken Elmo’s side, even making him a viral sensation.
Elmo is famous for his rendition of “The Alphabet” and his recent cover remix of his own song “rap alphabet” or Rap-phabet. This artist has only just broken into the rap scene, changing genres from folk music, but has taken the world by storm.
With Elmo headlining the concert, he joins a long line of famous people to have performed at Colorado Mesa University (CMU) over the years, including Lil Yachty, Andy Gramer and Surfaces.
“Elmo loves college, higher education is amazing. Elmo loves to perform songs, songs Elmo deffinity invented and wrote all by myself. Elmo has no ghost writer, Elmo is scared of ghosts, Elmo loves coming up with songs,” said Elmo.
Elmo is also most notably credited with working with legendary artists like gay icon Reneé Rapp, One Direction, and Count Von Count.
Elmo will be the concert of a lifetime. So mark your calendars for May 3rd, the PAC spring concert will be a H-I-T!
