Nolan Ellis rounded out the track and field competition at the DII Festival this weekend with a fifth-place finish in the pole vault.
Ellis cleared his first two attempts at 15-9 and 16-2.75. He missed his next jump at 16-6.75 before clearing it on his second attempt to set a new personal best.
He missed his first two attempts at 16-10.75 before clearing on his last attempt to place him in fifth place.
Ellis had three attempts at 17-2.75 and was unable to clear the bar on any attempt.
Ellis tied with Sioux Falls’ Jacob Zebedee as both missed four times trying to clear earlier heights and missing all three times at the last height.
With the tie for fifth, Ellis marks the second All-American on the track as he joins teammate D’Angelo Foster who competed Thursday and Friday.
