Daniel Salazar guaranteed himself no worse than a sixth-place finish the day before.
Today he guaranteed himself All-American status. Salazar finished fourth in the NCAA Wrestling Championships this morning.
Salazar wrestled Darren Wynn of McKendree earlier this morning where he fell by a score of 10-6. With a chance to tie it late, Salazar suffered a takedown that put his comeback out of reach.
Salazar moved to the consolation bracket where he faced Central Oklahoma’s, Josh Ailey. He won that match by a score of 13-7 and moved into the third/fourth match. There he faced Nate Crume, a three-time All-American, where he lost 9-3 to earn a fourth place finish.
