The theater department performed “James and the Giant Peach” by Roald Dahl from Sept. 29 to Oct. 8.
According to the director’s notes Jeremy R. Frankllin said, “The production team and I have been on our own adventure for the past four months as we worked to bring “James and the Giant Peach” to the stage. Despite the fact the show has a small (though extraordinary) case and is only 80- minutes long, it is big in so many other ways […] It also requires an on-stage transformation from the “adult world” into the “magic world,” and all that requires a great deal of technical magic. We decided to juxtapose both and new stagecraft techniques to create the magic of James’ world. This required a marrying of both practical and digital elements, for which a great deal of thanks is owed to Mike legate for his beautiful animations.”
