The Mavericks won game three of the series Friday afternoon by a score of 6-2.
In game two of the doubleheader, JR McDermott headed to the mound for the Mavericks while the Lancers sent right-hander Logan Rinehart as the opposition. McDermott improved to 1-0 on the year while striking out nine batters and only giving up two earned runs. He also walked two and gave up only four hits on the afternoon.

Rinehart was chased from the game after 2.2 innings pitched after giving up six earned runs. Matt Amrhein finished the game out for the Lancers as he went 5.1 innings while giving up zero runs on four hits.
The Mavericks struck first in the 2nd inning when Garrett Ball scored on a wild pitch from Rinehart. JJ Carr singled in Zach McLeod to push the lead to 2-0.
McDermott hit Alfredo Rodriguez in the 3rd inning and Bryce Macy was able to drive home Rodriguez with a single to center field to cut the lead to 2-1.
Will Dixon singled to right field and drove in Kyle Serrano after a bunt single and a walk to Bligh Madris. PJ Gonzalez was able to drive in Bligh Madris with a sacrifice fly extending the lead to 4-1. Tyler Sandoval homered to left field (1) to extend the Mavericks’ lead to 6-1. Rinehart was pulled for Matt Amrhein.
John Glenn homered in the 6th inning to cut the Mavericks’ lead to four, 6-2.
The fourth game of the series will be played Saturday at Supilizio Field with a first pitch time of 12 p.m.
