Last week was Alpha Sigma Alpha’s (ASA) spring recruitment week where the sorority was looking to bring in new girls from around campus.
The week started on Monday where there was cupcake decorating for anyone who was interested in joining. There they also got to meet with other members of the sorority to see what all goes into being a part of Greek Life.
Next up on Tuesday was the Starbucks Social where everyone met up in the Fireside lounge and got to know one another. This was followed up on Wednesday with the Sweets and Treats with ASA President Hannah Kois and Vice President of Public Relations and Recruitment Carly Hanley to meet one on one with the girls to answer any questions they had regarding being a part of ASA.
Then on Friday was the Invitational Dinner where those who were invited got to have a special dinner of Olive Garden salad and breadsticks with those who are currently in ASA. The week concluded on Saturday for their bid day celebration.
“I think it went great,” ASA President Hannah Kois said. “I think we have a really good group of girls this semester.”
Sixteen girls were brought into the sorority when everything was said and done. But there was one major difference from this semester’s recruitment week and the one that occurred in the fall.
“Last semester we had almost 400 girls go through our recruitment process, this semester we had about 30 so it was very different just on the size,” Kois said.
Look for ASA to hold their next recruitment week in the fall semester.
