Winter break has finally arrived, but that doesn’t mean everything is put on hold for the Colorado Mesa University students. Especially the Theater Arts department students. These past three weeks have kept the students busy with the dance performance, auditions and finals.
Dec. 2 the department had their first set of auditions for “Macbeth” which will perform in April and “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenager Blockhead”. Not only were there two auditioning shows in one day, but several of those students auditioning had just spent the whole week on the “Ends” Fall dance concert.
This past weekend there was another audition heading right into finals. This audition was for the musical: “Reefer Madness” which will perform in March. This audition contained singing, dancing and reading lines.
These students also had “One Acts” Dec. 7 and 8 and had to study for finals.
Next semester has a lot for these students to participate and do. There will also be “One Acts” performance next semester, “Means” the Spring dance concert, “RAW” and senior and non senior cabarets. Even though there may be a break, for these students it is more about learning their lines and songs for next semester.
