Break was nice, but now it is the home stretch

Welcome back Mavericks! It’s ready for the home stretch as we head into the final eight weeks of the semester. As academics ramp up so do the activities.

Activities to check out on campus this week. Tuesday at 6 p.m. PAC is hosting a Volleyball Tournament in the Hamilton Rec Center. Sign up will close Monday at noon and it has to be a team consisting of four players. There will be prizes for the winning teams. 

On the Quad from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Entrepreneurship Club is having College-Town-Connection where they will set up booths to businesses and the businesses will represent themselves in a market style business fair. 

The Ethics lecture series is this week. Monday in the University Center Ballroom the series will kick off with “All the Queen’s Horses” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday Mr. Weston Smith, former CFO of HealthSouth Corporation will be speaking in the UC ballroom from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Yuliya Stepanova and Vitaly Stepanova will speak about the largest doping scandal in sports history in the UC ballroom from 6 to 7 p.m. 

There will be possible future Mavericks storming the campus on Saturday due to Mesa Experience. This means several tours going on and a chance to show these future prospects why they should come to CMU. 

Music this week will include Arthur Houle, a professor of music at CMU, performing a piano concert on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Moss Performing Arts building. 

Two trips for the Outdoor Program this weekend. One is Intro to Rafting Saturday and Sunday and the other is Intro to Canyoneering in Moab on Saturday and Sunday. Make sure you sign up quick, trips fill up fast!

What Mavericks should cheer on this week in the stands is: Softball will be playing a double header against Colorado School of Mines on Saturday with one game starting at

12 p.m. and the other at 2 p.m. They will also play them again on Sunday with the first game at 11 a.m. and the following game at 1 p.m.

Men’s Lacrosse is at home as well on Saturday playing against Westminster College at 5 p.m. Women’s Lacrosse is at home on Sunday at 12 p.m. against CSU-Pueblo. 

Reminder! Monday, second module begins. Wednesday is the last day to withdraw from a full semester class and Friday is the last day to withdraw from a late start class.
