As students settle into the rhythms of the new academic year, the annual swell of gym attendees shrinks, and friends groups are formed, everything seems as it should be. This comforting cycle has replayed over the years like clockwork, making it easy to sink into a soft pillow of complacency.
Searching the internet for quotes about ‘complacency’ results in heaps of intelligent sounding quotes, a pile much too difficult to sort through for a simple opinion article (either that or I’m just too lazy). After a quick glance though, it’s easy to boil them all down into one statement, “Complacency will screw all of us”.
While not nearly as profound, it is just as accurate.
