Do you know who you are going to rent from?

Time is coming where lease season is up as well as students looking for off campus living

With a few months left of school, dorm applications and renting opportunities are around the corner. But, it can be challenging to find the right place for you.

When I went searching for rentals, I was checking hotpads.com, zillow.com and truila.com. As my other roommates and I searched, we found a few places that we liked. The first one was perfect!

When we called the company that is based on North Avenue, they told us we could come get a key. Yet, when we arrived they said that the property already had an application and we could not check out a key.

We wasted valuable time out of class to march across campus and over the building, to only be turned away.

As we kept searching through endless websites, there was one post that stood out. It was a townhome and had enough room for the three of us. This was being rented by Heritage Property Management.

We called and they told us they had someone already over there showing the home. With limited time before our next classes, we hopped on over to see the house. We got the tour and the rundown. We were told that the property would go fast, and if we wanted it, we needed to decide now. Which we did.

On the way back to campus, we all decided this was it. We called the property management and spoke with a nice lady who told us to come in right away for an application. After classes, we headed over, got our applications, filled them out and the next day a lease was being brought out.

Heritage Property Management wasted no time. They were very communicative and weren’t going to push us aside if another application came in beforehand since we had shown interest first. They were very fair to us.

One of the members helped us through the lease and as we went step by step through every section, she was impressed that we were focused and looking at everything. She was patient and when we did have a question, she didn’t answer in a snarky tone or like we were little children.

It is smart to read the lease thoroughly, for there were a couple things in our lease that even the employee didn’t know what it meant. With sections being crossed off that were not important and misunderstood, we finally signed and were ready to move in. Within the next days, we got keys and it was ours.

Although we were still in school and had to pay rent over the summer, it was a steal. Throughout our two years living in this townhome, the Heritage Property Management team has been there to help us.

We have had a few malfunctions like when our water heater broke and flooded the garage. Within the hour of calling the property management, they had someone over to fix it. The same with our garbage disposal. After calling they set up a time and came as quickly as they could.

Unfortunately, it is our last semester in the beautiful townhome. For the owner of the place wants to sell the place, my roommates and I are again on the hunt for another property.

Staying with Heritage Property Management would be beneficial for they have made everything easy and clear. It was a great off-campus living experience.

If you are hunting for a rental, check out what Heritage Property Management has to offer. You won’t regret leasing with them.
