The Genders and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) and the Black Student Alliance (BSA) joined up on Friday at noon to tie-dye shirts in the seventy degree spring warmth. The event was held in honor of Unity Fest at Colorado Mesa University, as it followed events such as the “Ask the Gays Panel,” BSA Karaoke Night and LSA Dance Night.

This year’s Unity Fest arrived in the wake of a double name change in which the Cultural Diversity Board became the Cultural Inclusion Council (CIC) and the Gay-Straight Alliance became the Genders and Sexualities Alliance. Both these name changes were for the sake of being more inclusive.

The CIC Color Festival followed the tie-dye event that evening and the Ho’olokahi Polynesian Club luau the next day.
