There’s a new taco place in town.

Ditch the carne asada and Coca-Cola. Taco Party, located on 5th. Street in downtown Grand Junction, is not the Mexican restaurant people are used to. In fact, right as people walk into the door, a sign on the their wall specifically says Taco Party is “not a Mexican restaurant.” Taco Party is a combination of foreign and locally grown food.

Rather than greasy meat people are used to digesting with their tacos, Taco Party offers pork shoulders and shrimp combined with pico and other salsas. Instead of traditional sodas, the restaurant offers wine and drinks mixed with agave.

Inside the restaurant, the interior is more classy. Booths with classy music in the background give more of a date night vibe than a fiesta.

As far as the food, everything made is locally grown inside Colorado. Taco Party does its best to provide its customers with locally grown food. Last Saturday, the store had its grand open and the store is now open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If people aren’t are looking for a traditional taco stand, then this isn’t the place for them. However, people looking for a combination of tasty Mexican cuisine and locally grown goods, the they can look no further than Taco Party.
