Christmas is coming!

Yay!

Christmas is an undeniably iconic time of year. During the month of December, it seems to permeate American culture, especially when it comes to advertisements. Yet it seems that Christmas is no longer limited to December; in fact, many times one can even see evidence of it before Thanksgiving has even come to pass.

This is not, however, a bad thing. In fact, the ever-increasing preparations for the holiday season can have many benefits.

The Cheer: With the weather getting ever colder and the days growing shorter, this is a time of year when tensions can rise, and the days can feel dreary. Having a major holiday such as Christmas within sight can be just the thing for lifting one’s spirits.

The Prices: As with most other major holidays, Christmas brings with it a bevy of discounts and special deals. With the Christmas season starting earlier and lasting longer, that means there are even more opportunities to save a dollar or two.

The Food: Perhaps the greatest part of the holiday season is the food. An early start to the Christmas season grants access to all of those seasonal coffees and desserts. And with the scents of hot chocolate and peppermint heavy upon the air, it is hard to resist the advent of the holiday season, no matter how early it may come.
