The best beauty products for you

When walking into the store to buy beauty products, it can be overwhelming with the vast amount of options there are. Whether it be for hair products, skin care or makeup, there are endless decisions to make.

Having a love for beauty products, I have had my fair share of experiences with products that don’t work, and ones that do the trick. The top five brands that I highly recommend include GlamGlow, Morphe, Too Faced, Urban Decay and Not Your Mother’s.

With every brand comes positive and negative aspects. However, these brands tend to have a heavier amount of pros compared to cons.

Starting with face care, GlamGlow is a company that a couple started inside their own home in Hollywood for celebrities to get that quick fix for their skin in order to be camera ready.

According to the official GlamGlow website, “Distribution has now increased to 86 countries with over 6,500 Luxury Retail Stores, Spa Back-Bars, Luxury Hotels, Airlines and Cruise Lines.”

This company focuses on skin care, but supplies makeup products as well. I have personally tried three of their facial masks and have to say they are top notch with immediate results.

I noticed an abrupt difference in my skin texture after using their exfoliant mask “Youth Mud.” The only con I can distinguish with this brand is that if you have sensitive skin some of the masks may be too harsh. I would recommend testing products on a patch of skin beforehand.

Moving on to makeup, Morphe, Too Faced and Urban Decay products are my holy grail.

Morphe is a great option when looking for amazing products without having to spend big bucks. The company is known for its makeup brushes and eyeshadow pallets. However, they do sell lashes, lip gloss, powders and more.

I have three brushes from Morphe, as well as two eyeshadow pallets. I do not have a single complaint. The brushes are soft, the eyeshadows are pigmented and the prices stay lower than most big brand names. On top of this, a lot of big name makeup artists endorse this brand such as Manny Mua and Jeffree Star.

When it comes to powders and eyeshadow, Too Faced is the brand to go to. Their Cocoa Powder is a particularly remarkable product. It comes in a little compact and can be used to set foundation, or just used as a powder to brush over your face. Not only does this stuff cover up impurities like no other, but it legitimately smells like chocolate. It can’t get any better than that.

As for Urban Decay, their liquid foundations and concealers can cover up the darkest of dark circles. I recommend giving their All Nighter foundation a try. Not only is it long lasting and waterproof, it is also full coverage. This goes for the Naked Skin concealer as well. It helps brighten the face, and the coverage is just as good as the foundation, if not better.

If you are looking for a colorful look on the eyes, Urban Decay also has a great line of colorful liquid eyeliners which glide on so easily, even if liquid liner is not your forte.

When it comes to my hair, I try to stay away from washing daily as it can be drying to the hair. However, I was not blessed with the non-greasy hair gene; it took me years to find a dry shampoo that worked for me.

Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo will make greasy hair look like it was freshly shampooed. There are multiple scents offered, and if you prefer unscented, they have that too. They also carry many other products including detangler, hair growth product and a large variety of shampoos.

These top five brands may not work for everybody’s skin and hair type, but if you are unsure on where to start in the beauty world, I would recommend giving these a try.
