The Hospitality Management Club is open and you are invited.
They operate under the mission “to provide networking opportunities while creating connections with fellow students,” as Club Marketer Brock Cullen put it.
It works in tandem with the Hospitality Management program under the Davis School of Business. Typically, a hospitality major’s studies involve learning the industry and how to succeed in careers in hotel management, event planning and anything tourism-related—basically any job that oversees a service between a customer and a host.
Hospitality exists to make customers feel welcome. Hospitality experts know they need to ask guests how their service is received, help customers with requests, answer any questions they may have and do so with a smile. This type of job isn’t something everyone is able to do, and it takes someone well-versed in hospitality to deliver high-quality service. The club emulates this value through events that they host.
“With our events, our goal is to incorporate what we have been learning in hospitality to the real world. We want to do activities/create an experience to understand more about our industry and what we can get out of it while also having fun!” Cullen said.

They hosted a bake sale to raise money for a club trip that is yet to be determined, but will likely be some sort of hospitality activity for an opportunity to gain experience and build professional connections.
Hospitality Club is a fun hands-on way for students training to be in the business of customer interaction–whether it be a travel agent, a tour guide or a concierge. The club is open to all majors and plans in- and out-of-state trips. They also host an annual networking reception with professionals from across the state for students interested in internships and jobs after graduation.
“We would love to have anyone join who is interested in people, travel or just wants to be a part of a community where we provide fun opportunities,” Cullen said.
The club meets every other Wednesday in Dominguez Hall room 203 at 4:30 p.m. More information can be found on the club’s Presence page.
