The men’s golf team tied for fifth place in the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invite this weekend.
Colorado Mesa University (CMU) tied with Colorado Christian University and Westminster College for fifth place.
Redshirt junior Kyle Pearson shot a 72 in the final round of the tournament. He finished with a score of 211 and tied in seventh place.
Two mavericks tied each other for 32 place. Redshirt freshman Ethan Bishop and freshman Yael Chahin both had a score of 218. Bishop’s final round he had a score of 71 which was one more stroke than his first one that had a score of 70.
Chahin continued his first season as a Maverick in Pueblo scoring a 218. His best round came in the second round when he scored a 71.
Redshirt freshman Peter Grossenbacher and junior Dane Anger both shot a 220 making them tied for 29 place. Grossenbacher shot a 71 in the final round while Anger shot a 76.
The men’s team will travel to Amarillo Tx. on Oct. 26 to play in the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite. The tournament will start at 9 A. M.
