The performing arts department put on a show of Opera Scenes theFriday night before Thanksgiving break at 7:30 p.m. in Love Recital Hall. The performers did six scenes total, as well as a short “opera comic” at the end.

The scenes were the evening prayer from Hansel and Gretel, the opening scene from The Old Maid and the Thief, the trio from The Barber of Seville, the duet from Lakme, the song “Sisters” from White Christmas and the chorus of Hebrew slaves from Nabucco.
After the intermission, the event wrapped up with a 25 minute cantata by Bach, titled Coffee Cantata.
Three of the scenes were in different languages. The duet from Lakme was sung in French while The Barber of Seville and Nabucco were sung in Italian.
