Wired or not, caffeine app is effective

For the heaviest of coffee drinkers, there is an app called UP Coffee that is designed to see how much coffee or tea you drink in a day. Developed by scientists, the app tracks how much caffeine a person consumes in a day to see how it affects his or her body and sleep patterns.

There are different types of features on the app, with lists ranging from different types of coffees, teas, sodas, candies, energy drinks, and supplements, to even certain types of pain relievers that can affect how you sleep, depending on the time of the day which you take them.

Once you start adding what kinds of caffeine you put into your body, the app’s digitized bottle starts filling up with little colorful bubbles. When you drink too much, the bubbles hit the “wired” line.

There are two other indicators, one a circle with a meter that says OK in it, and another that tells you when you’re ready for bed.

Other pages on the app will tell you when you drink the most caffeine during the day on a bar graph, whether it’s in the morning or at night. You can also adjust the times of when you usually drink coffee or tea.

There are different types of experiments that you can choose to play with, such as, “How do you stack up?” and “What does your caffeine habit say about you?” While the second one takes a week to complete, the first experiment shows how much caffeine you consume on an average day.

At first, UP Coffee is a little confusing, but playing with it more and more will help you understand how it works, tracking all of the caffeine you put into your body and how it affects you.
