What do you want to do with your degree?
Maybe be an English teacher in France or a French teacher abroad.
What’s the difference between French and American food?
It’s a lot spicier over here.
Favorite French food versus favorite American food?
In France, it’s fried potatoes with beef. I love bagels. We don’t have bagels in France, blueberry bagels especially. I knew what it was, but I had never tried one before. And then I tried it, and I fell in love with it.
Was it disappointing coming to America and not being able to drink?
Well, it’s frustrating. You can’t legally buy alcohol or drink alcohol. I’m not a big partier, but I like to drink beer sometimes in a bar with friends, and I can’t even go in a bar here. It’s different when you are used to that.
What do you like to do when you’re not in class?
When I’m not studying I like going to the gym. I like hiking. I think Colorado is good for that. I’ve been on the Monument, Mt. Garfield, Mt. Sneffels. It took six or seven hours to do it. I can do skiing, but I’ve never been on Powderhorn. Snowboarding looks hard.
How does the weather here differ from France?
It’s colder here in winter and hotter in summer. Here it’s very dry. In France it’s very humid and often raining.
Likes and dislikes about Grand Junction?
I like the fact that Grand Junction is not a huge city, and then you have the Monument. It’s really wide here, and I like that.
If you had to choose: American guys or European guys?
Maybe American guys. They are more friendly. I just think that American guys, American people in general, are more open-minded.
Would you rather be really hot or really cold?
Really cold.
