Narcotics suspected in Grand Mesa

The Grand Junction Police responded to Grand Mesa Hall on Jan. 23 concerning suspicions of illegal prescription drugs inside a dorm room.

Several CMU students are suspected of distributing and possessing schedule II narcotics, according to the Feb. 4 Grand Junction police blotter. Schedule II narcotics include morphine, opium, methadone and oxycodone, among others.

Officers discovered crushed pills on a table and several students who admitted to ingesting them. None of the suspects in question were named in the police report. It is not clear why the students were not arrested.

According to Kate Porras, Police Information Coordinator for Grand Junction Police Department, the case has been sent to the District Attorney’s office for charging.
