Krewella floods the EDM scene

Even if you’ve never heard of Krewella, you’ve probably heard their songs “Live for the Night” and “Alive” on the radio or elsewhere. Both songs, though extremely catchy, don’t do their new album justice.

Filled with heart-racing, fist-pumping dubstep and fun, party lyrics, Krewella’s “Get Wet” includes songs from their 2012 “Play Hard EP” as well as several new songs featuring artists like Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy and Travis Barker of Blink-182.

Krewella consists of sisters/vocalists Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf and producer Kris “Rain Man” Trindl. The album, released Sept. 24, is the trio’s debut full-length album. EDM lovers should get excited – the combination of sexy vocals and hard-hitting bass serve as the basis for Krewella’s soon-to-become signature sound.

Although “Get Wet” can easily be labeled an EDM album, it does include several ballads, though the tempo progresses rapidly throughout every song.

“Ring of Fire” is notable, featuring an eerie intro and drawn-out vocals that lead to a drop nothing short of booty-shaking.

Krewella’s music is a perfect introduction to dubstep for those who are convinced the genre is “just noise.” Listeners can actually sing along to every track while still learning to enjoy good bass and electronic synth.
If you’re looking for something to get you pumped for almost any occasion, “Get Wet” is ideal, created by a group who is no doubt here to stay in the EDM and pop world.
