Team Chemistry builds confidence as season approaches

As September starts to wind down, CMU’s swim team is getting ready for its first meet of the season. The season opener, being held at CMU on Oct. 5, is the Mavericks’ annual Maroon and Black meet.

With practices almost every morning and afternoon, the team’s dedication to the sport is clear. The practices are notably high demanding, which is why they are one of the most successful and highly regarded teams at CMU.

“Practices are going pretty well so far,” sophomore Jeremy Pacheco said. “We’ve started to increase our intensity and the team is extremely supportive of each other.”

The team is hopeful for another successful season with a returning coaching staff and a combination of new and returning swimmers.
“We are all pretty close with one another which definitely helps,” Pacheco said. “I think the season will go great. We’re really starting to come together as a team.”
