This year’s theater department kicks off the school year with Schoolhouse Rock, which will begin showing Sept. 26 in the Robinson Theater. Colton Pratt will be playing the role of Tom Mizer.

“I just love theater. Its just lots of fun and very active,” he said.

Pratt said that his favorite scene is Mother Necessity “because of all the characters we get to play.”

He said that he was required to do this musical for his major and is excited to play the lead role.

“We all get to get in here and have fun with it, and there’s just such good energy and lots of creativity,” he said.

The show should appeal to a broad audience.

“There will be stuff incorporated for  everyone to enjoy, young or old, and that everyone of all ages should enjoy,” he said. “This a great way to start the season off.”
