OP assists with bike tune-ups

On Wednesday from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., the Sustainability Council and O.P. are hosting a bike repair workshop on the back patio of the University Center. The 10-12 volunteers will be giving a tube-changing tutorial along with showing how to adjust breaks and derailleurs.

“In this community, we should all know a lot about bikes,” O.P. employee Mo Mullenax said.

The O.P. has done this event in the past as one of their Wednesday Night Wanderings with minimal success, so the club and organization decided to make it during more accessible hours to attract more students.

“Students are encouraged to ride their bikes that day to promote biking on campus,” Sustainability Council President Amanda Stahlke said.

The workshop is free and is part of an ongoing effort to keep the campus and Grand Junction green. However it is a B.Y.O.T. event. The O.P. will have tubes for sale, but they advise that students bring their own.
