ASG Update

Two members of the club Montrose Campus Voice voiced concerns students had about the remote campus at Wednesday’s meeting, the biggest being that students would like to see a childcare program set up on campus.

ASG President Telbe Storbeck advised the club to begin preparations for the program now as a baby organization. This would show the administration there is enough interest to proceed further.

ASG also gave the students tips on other ways to make their campus active.

In new business, two bills were passed.

ASG allocated $180 from the operating budget to provide breakfast at the city council forums at the end of March.

The women’s Alpine ski team qualified for the national competition in Red Lodge, Mont., and was given $1,675.56 from RNCF to fund the trip.

There was also an architect meeting on Wednesday in which part of ASG met with architects designing the new academic building to look at the first draft of the plans. This is part of an ongoing process that will continue until ASG and the administration are satisfied with the drawings.

“If we get enough pressure on the architects from students, we can pretty much get what we want,” ASG Senator Ryan McConnell said.

There will be more public input sessions for students to contribute to before the semester ends.
