The Ambassadors annual Adopt-A-Family event, held Sunday, gave 21 families a chance to have a better Christmas.
“This year was definitely a success,” Ambassador Joel Schnierle said. “We got a lot more support from the campus community than usual.”
The event was coordinated in advance through the Mesa County Workforce Center. The MCWC picked the families to receive donations, and then they were given a packet to help them construct their wish list. The packet was filled with different clothes, toys and food items. The families then marked the items they had the biggest need for to ensure all of the gifts would go to use.
“This is probably my favorite program of the year,” said Schnierle. “It’s cool to see people happy, and it makes you feel grateful for what you have.”
