The CMU Theatre Department will open its second show of the season, “Almost, Maine,” next week. The play will run from Nov. 14-17 in Robinson Theatre. The romantic comedy is sure to attract students with its crazy stories of love.

CMU sophomore Tara Kelso has enjoyed working as a cast member for this show.

“It’s really neat because it’s not like any other Mesa plays,” Kelso said. “It’s conversational, clever, interesting and keeps you watching.”

Kelso plays one of the young couples that falls in love at the beginning of the show. “Almost, Maine” reaches out and grabs young romantics, especially college students.

The play follows nine couples that are at different stages in their lives and relationships. Every scenario shows a couple at the make or break climax of their own unique relationship. Some end up breaking up, some find lost love and some take their love to the next level.

“It’s very clever and has tons of symbolism tucked away in it,” Kelso said.

Student rush for the performance is next Wednesday, Nov. 14. Tickets for students are only $4 and for faculty and staff are $5.

CMU senior Alicia Crespin has attended a number of performances on student rush nights.

“It’d be silly to see the same show for a higher price,” Crespin said. “I always go to student rush, it is such a great deal.”

Regular priced tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $6 for students. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 970-248-1604, online at coloradomesa.edu/moss/theatretickets.html, or in person at the box office before the show.
