‘Creed’ features killer gameplay, graphics

Members of the Ubisoft team have outdone themselves with their latest contribution to gaming software. Anvil Next, designed specifically for the newly released “Assassins Creed III,” takes gamers to an alternate reality where graphics, scenery and combat are more realistic and engaging than ever before.

This past Tuesday at midnight, millions of Americans entered the pre-revolutionary America and took on the identity of Connor Kenway. Kenway is a half-Native American, half-Briton assassin whose objective is to maintain order in the new world by assassinating members of the Templar, a religious group that seeks control of the world. Along the way, Kenway is faced with countless obstacles such as British soldiers, the progression of the revolutionary war and the responsibility of protecting our first Commander-In-Chief, George Washington.

The many combat scenes are intense and filled with creativity, leaving it up to the gamer to decide the take-down tactic: whether to use hidden blades, a pistol or the newly added tomahawk. Kenway is forced to take on individual Templar leaders, groups of British soldiers and even entire platoons at one time. The combat scenes, thanks to Anvil Next, are more realistic and life-like than ever before in gaming history.

Anvil Next also lends to the scenery of the game. Set in pre-revolutionary America, the immense detail that was paid to scenery is incredibly evident as Kenway climbs to the top of the Old City Hall building in Boston and meets a view of the entire city and Boston Harbor. As the game progresses, gamers even witness the changing of the seasons.

The gameplay, overall, sets “Assassins Creed III” above any other modern video game. Players are met with countless interaction opportunities where they can choose to interact with civilians, dogs, horses and even participate in parts of history, such as the Boston Tea Party.

“Assassins Creed III” is the most detailed and advanced game available to gamers right now. The Assassins trademark of a heavy and deep plot combined with the revolutionary work of Ubisoft has transformed this game from a videogame to an incredible experience for gamers all over.
