Welcome to the newest chapter of your life. The next four or so years are about to transform you into the adult that you will become. You will take one of the craziest rides through life. You will laugh, cry, feel proud, feel disappointed, but when it’s all said and done, you will have a great career at CMU.

So why exactly is CMU the absolute perfect place for you to be? For starters, we have the lowest tuition increase in the state, with it only increasing 4.92% in each of the last two years. If you compare it to the other schools, that is very low. Adams State has sent tuition rates sky rocketing up 42% in the past four years. You get to attend a university cheaper than many other schools in Colorado.

CMU is also a fast growing community. The number of students has grown significantly the past few years. In fact, in each of the last three years, CMU has set a record for its biggest enrollment. Buildings are also popping up everywhere on campus. The new dorms are incredible when it comes to their accomodations and their layouts. The new apartments are much nicer than many in-town apartments and include everything that you could ask for in a new place to live. Moss Performing Arts building is expanding. Classrooms continue to be upgraded with new computers, desks and chairs. The school also added more study areas and more places to get tutored.

CMU also offers many extracoricular activities. Whether it’s a club for entrepreneurs or anime fans, business or sports managers, there are a lot of clubs to sign up for. The school also hosts so many activities, concert and games. At the very least two times a week, a club will host an event that will be fun for many students, such as making t-shirts and playing games for prizes. The University Ballroom and Elm Quad will host a few concerts this year, stating wih 3Oh!3 Sept. 1. It’s also a new chapter for Maverick sports with so many teams making changes like new coaches. Walker Field and Brownson Arena make changes to make it better for fans to watch the game. Brownson arena added a new video screen in the gym and Stocker Stadium is finally finished for football season.

With cheaper tuition, a growing place and thousands of ways to get involved, attending CMU was the best choice you made so far after high school. When you receive your degree in four years, you will be proud of everything you did on campus. Your future begins now.
