PAC hosted “LOL Tuesday” and while big names continue to make their way to Grand Junction, well renowned comedian and actor, Ron G. made a stop at CMU. Ron G. attended the University of South Carolina with few intentions of pursuing a path in comedy. He graduated with degrees in Finance and Management, but soon discovered a passion for performing.

Ron G. continues to make a name for himself and has been successful at gigs all over the country, but his first attempt in the business was far from hopeful as he got a poor first reaction from an audience in Atlanta. In 2005 Ron returned to Atlanta and got first place at the Sierra Mist Late Night Laff Off.

According to Ron’s website, http://www.gorong.com/about, “Having Martin Lawrence tell him he was funny is one of Ron G’s career highlights so far. . .”

After getting set up, he started his set. He began by apologizing that he was late.

“My only pre-show ritual is I pray, I feel the crowd for something funny going on, and I like to eat,” Ron G. said.

When his act started, he talked a little about himself and his success on the “Last Comic Standing.”

“One of the most exciting, stressful moments of my life, and I learned a lot about comedy itself,” Ron G. said.

His act largely involved the audience. He picked on them and asked the questions like where they were from. As part of his act he did impressions of Drake, President Obama, and Lil’ Wayne. In other parts of his act he demonstrated dating, and arguing with his girlfriend. He ended the set with a few funny pantomimes of reactions in awkward situations, all which ended in him pulling a gun out of his waist.

After the show ended he stayed around to joke with the audience, and sign cards he was handing out, as well as some posters he had.
