Flyin’ Roosters: it’s hidden for a good reason

Tucked back in a corner of First and Grand, is Fly’n Roosters. Locally-owned Roosters has some character. Inside is an old wooden bar, with all sorts of liquor stacked neatly on shelves. Next to the shelves, the refrigerator with the Pepsi logo. On the right side of the refrigerator on the top shelf were two different types of Pepsi products, and the rest of the fridge was filled with liquor and fry sauce, which was nice, cool to the taste. After munching down on the hot wings, the fry sauce added a small tangy taste to it. The walls were decorated with neon signs for alcohol, and triangle shaped banners decorated the walls.
The wings were OK, not the greatest I have ever had. They were luke-warm. The Gargoyle sauce over them was a tangy Cajun sauce that was pretty good. The French fries were doused in seasoning. The chicken tenders were not anything special. The coleslaw was last, but I didn’t get a chance to try it, because I was full.
The meal was not worth the price. Service was not up-to-par. The waitress did not introduce herself. She forgot to put my order in for chicken tenders so I had to wait. They forgot to give us lemonade that we ordered. The prices ranged from $4.50 to $27, and again the food was not worth the money.
I would compare Fly’n Roosters to the sports bar, Buffalo Wild Wings. At that sports bar, the food is excellent; the place is more put together, well organized and clean. The service is great, because they actually know what they’re doing, and it’s more of a “warm welcome” feeling compared to Fly’n Roosters.
