Rockslide Brewery: hip and trendy college hangout

The Rockslide Brewery, located on Main Street, is a popular, trendy bar for college students. The main pull of the bar is the brewery. The lights are dimmed to maintain a low key, chilled atmosphere. There is loud music with heavy hitting bass. The bar is split into a dance floor and the bar itself. This brewery is a touch classier than Whiskey River or Weavers Tavern, but still “college student appropriate” There is typically an overwhelming majority of people by the bar, especially if you go on Friday night when the brewery hosts its College Night ft. DJ Trizz.
After sitting down for a few minutes, the server came and took our order. The first beer I tried was their Big Bear Stout, which has strong coffee, chocolate, and caramel flavors in it. The Big Bear Stout was full in flavor, but not for those used to drinking watered down beers like Budweiser. I then tried Kokopeli Cream Ale. This beer was located on the opposite side of the spectrum from the Big Bear Stout. The Kokopeli Cream Ale has less of a bite, and more of a clean brisk taste, with hints of vanilla. Their boneless wings are spicy, and come with fries, which was an unexpected surprise. If you go during happy-hour, the drinks are $3, and the bar has pretty decent company.
