The Nordic Ski Team will send seven members to Nationals March 6-11 in Sun Valley, Idaho. Brooke Bosman, Kelsey Follett, Megan McGrath, Ann Carlan, Amanda Moore, Tre Anastasia and Dustin Wanstrath will represtent the Mavericks. Before they compete, they will be raising money by doing work on skis and snowboards. On Feb. 23, they can wax, brush and polish your boards for $8 and even repair your boards for an extra $5.

The softball team opened the season in Rochester, Minn., losing three of their five games in the RMAC/NSIC Crossover Tournament. The beat Concordia University 2-0 and St. Cloud State 9-7. They lost to Upper Iowa Universiy 8-6, Winona State 14-5 and Minnesota State University Mankato 9-6.
“It felt great pitching the shutout in the first game,” Sara Jordan said. “It was an awesome way to start the seaon. It’s the beginning so we just have to keep pushing, believing and staying focused.”

The women’s basketball team held on to beat hated Western State in overtime 77-74. Sharaya Slso had 16 points and Kelsey Sigl added 14 points. The ladies close the regular season at home this weekend as they host Adam’s State Friday night and Fort Lewis Saturday night.
