The Hilltop Talent show will be at 7 p.m. in the Moss Performing Art’s Recital Hall on April 27. Ten acts will attempt to impress the judges performing two to three pieces each.
Tickets are $4 for students and $5 for general admission. All proceeds will go to Hilltop.
“Jesse Bradford brought me the idea. He wanted to give back (to Hilltop) because of all the things they have done for his friend,” said Jon Williams, a Mesa State Senior and co-chair for the event. Williams was interested in making a difference and this was his perfect opportunity.
Hilltop is a non-profit organization that serves many people in the Grand Valley. They have a spectrum of services for people who they view as under served or not served at all. They also have many programs to help people of all ages.
During intermission there will be t-shirts on sale and give aways. Hilltop will also be there to sign up any perspective volunteers who are interested in making an impact on the community.
The talent show includes singers, dancers, vocalists, instrumentalists, a poet, and a comedian. Most of the contestants heard about the show through Hilltop’s marketing department and most are not students.
All contestants will be judged by the Resident Hall Association and three MSC student residents. The three categories that contestants could win a prize in are instrumental, vocal, and dance. The miscellaneous performances will be competing in the dance categories.
