Yes, the Lil Yachty concert is free for students. Really.

The rumors are not true and the concert is still free for CMU students

Current Colorado Mesa University students will not have to pay to attend the Lil Yachty concert hosted by the Programming Activities Council — despite the rumors.

PAC Chair Melanie DiMinno believes the confusion that has spread across campus may have  been caused by the university’s new ticketing system.

In 2017, the University Center front desk became the centralized location of ticket sales for all CMU events. Students and community members alike can visit the desk to purchase all their tickets for the academic year.

“It is different because students will not have to pick up a ticket at all in order to be permitted entrance to the concert,” DiMinno said, they will just need their MavCard.

Repeat: you will only need your MavCard to gain entrance to the concert.

However, the general public will have to pay to attend the concert, the same as previous years. Tickets purchased ahead of time will be $25, at the door they will be $30.

PAC is setting up the stage on Saturday, April 28 on CMU’s Grand Mesa Quad. Entrance begins at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. with Dizzy Wright as the opening act.
