“Studying and doing good in your classes is important, but so is getting out and having fun. Make sure you take time to try new things and take advantage of all the events and activities on campus. Also, don’t be afraid to talk to people in your classes, some of my best friends are people I met in my 100 level classes.” — Greg Waldorf

“Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone, you may surprise yourself.” — Katherine Brisse

“If you don’t eat vegetables every once in a while, you’re going to get sick. Just because you can eat pasta for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, doesn’t mean you should.” — Celeste Tovar

“Asking for help before it is too late. Know that showing up for your professors office hours is part of what it takes to be successful, and not after you bomb a test. This advice goes beyond academics as well, there is a lot of people that can help you with your medical, mental and financial needs as well.” — Jody Bailey

“I wish I had known how important projects/competitions like the student showcase would be in getting your first job.” — Jack Bryan

“Take the first year to focus on gen eds so you get a better idea of what you want to do. Liberal arts are underrated. I would have loved to have taken more history and literature coursework. Make sure you start building up friendships from the beginning to help you when times get tough. Be sure you make the grades but have fun too! Don’t take yourself too seriously.” — Josh Felton Matthews
