The Western Slope Film Festival takes place on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Avalon Theatre. Four students from the Digital Filmmaking Program of Western Colorado Community College (WCCC) will be presenting their original films at the festival.

WCCC Students Taylor Mahoney, Joel Cochran, Nik Linenberger and Nate Williams finished films this past May and have a chance to display their work for an audience.

According to Digital Filmmaking Program Lead Dan McClintock, the technical instructor at WCCC, the festival is a big deal for the students and the school. “This is the first time that they’ve submitted,” McClintock said. “So we’re going into new territory right now.”
