A tradition for the last few years, the Programming Activities Council (PAC) was back to give out succulents for this year’s Earth Day on April 22.

“We typically do this once per semester, and I saw that it was going to be Earth Day, so what better day to celebrate Earth Day than by giving away a part of the Earth?” PAC Director Mattie Kolb said.

The succulent giveaway is typically one of PAC’s most popular events. This year they gave out over 400 plants.

“It’s been a PAC tradition that we give away succulents. […] Succulents are easy for students to take care of. They don’t require a lot of energy, and it doesn’t require a lot for these busy college students to keep them alive,” Kolb said.

Sustainability Council oftentimes puts on their own succulent event or partners with PAC, but this year PAC was solely responsible for putting on the event.
