Fall 2021 Concert Review

It has been an entire year since CMU students have been offered a concert and this year did not disappoint. The opening act, Public Library Commute, and main performer, Surfaces, put on an entertaining and lively performance.

Every year, Colorado Mesa University (CMU) hosts a free on-campus concert for students to attend. After the unexpected and unprecedented changes that COVID brought to the table, the Fall 2020 Concert had to be canceled, which made the Fall 2021 Concert that much better.

Despite a wild rain and thunderstorm that delayed the doors opening by an hour, the gig let on a two-hour-long dynamic show complete with beach balls, crowd hand-waving and good vibes.

Prior to the concert, there were two lines that fed into the main arena. Both of these lines extended deep into the main campus, which led to a crowded concert venue. The packed arena was full of participants who showed up to have a good time, and they did not disappoint with their energy and engagement.

The CMU Fall Concert is a wonderful introduction to the campus for freshmen and reminds returning students of the welcoming community here at CMU.

Surfaces brought on a vibrant performance that many CMU students were able to enjoy. The Fall Concert is a perfect way to kick off the semester with a great turn out.
