Cold fingers and toes

Goodbye Summer; hello fall and winter?

BRRRRR! Colorado is known for its whacky weather, but it decided to go full blown fall within seconds. From 80 degrees to low 50’s it quickly turned from shorts weather to where is my second jacket?

Not only did we just receive the most rain we have in a while, but if you look to the East towards Grand Mesa you see this white stuff covering the tops of the Mesa. WHAT! SNOW! Snow on the Mesa in October! Color weekend is quickly becoming almost ski time. It’s time to winterize those swamp coolers or, if you are lucky enough, turn off the AC and switch on the heat.

As a Colorado native, I can handle the cold, but this dreary, grey sky for the past few days has made the tiny amount of motivation I did have completely disappear. This weather is for watching movies, cuddled in a blanket and of course some hot chocolate or cider.

Homework? Going to class? Actually getting out of bed? No. Leaving the warmth of the covers is death. The grey skies have an effect on everyone. Some get energized, but most begin to move slightly slower.

There will be more sunshine in the near future, but this much-needed rain has changed what was summer to what now is fall.

Is there even going to be much of a fall? There is already snow on the ground! We may only have a week or two of Fall, so take advantage. The fall colors have already begin falling to the ground leaving trees bare and there will be ice and snow before we know it.
