Colorado Mesa University’s Circle K Club will host a formal chartering ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 6. The event will take place at 5:30 at the Two Rivers Convention Center in Downtown Grand Junction. CMU President Tim Foster and state-wide Kiwanis Club leaders will be in attendance.

CMU’s Circle K Club, the collegiate level of Kiwanis International, has reached 20 members, giving it charter status this year. The club “features volunteers in 80 countries,” according to a Circle K Club Charter news release.

CMU’s Circle K Club is in its seventh year and has sent members to the District Convention for Kiwanis International, according to the news release. The club serves the community with the Project Linus blanket-making project for hospitalized children, Kids Aid Project Backpack, and more.

Due to this new charter status, “CMU has a Kiwanis sanctioned charter banner and gavel; and, members have received membership cards for the Rocky Mountain District.”

CMU’s Circle K Club meets every other Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Escalante Room 201. The next meeting takes place on Sept. 13.
