The dead body of an adult woman was discovered Saturday on Watson Island, along the Colorado River. It was found by a passerby on the island, which is home to a popular disc golf course.
According to a blog post by the Grand Junction Police Department, the body was found near the water and the death is presumed suspicious. The unidentified body will continue to be investigated by the Mesa County Coroner’s Office and GJPD Detectives.
Watson Island, which is just south of the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, has been closed by police for investigation.
