ASG Presidential debate to take place Wednesday, election to happen on Monday

The Associated Student Government presidential debate preceding the Apr. 8 election will take place Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. It will be recorded by CMU-TV in their studio in Escalante Hall.

The debate will be co-moderated by Editor in Chief of The Criterion Chris DeLeon and Peer Academic Coach Janine Hald.

According to the newsletter from current ASG Vice President Jeff Vela, “Current Student Trustee Amara Hobbs will be debating to win re-election of her seat against Senate Leader Colton Rupple, Supreme Court Justice Jasmin Tellez, and Olivia VanGundy, former Mass Communication Senator.”

Current President Beau Flores will be running for reelection for ASG president with Angel Bautista as his vice president this time, As Vice President Vela is graduating. Flores and Bautista will be running against Senators Lauren Mason and Alex Wagner.

Starting at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, the trustee debate will happen first, followed by the presidential debate.
