Milo Yiannopoulos, a British political commentator and former senior editor for Breitbart News, will be holding a speaking event April 14 at 7:00 p.m at a yet-to-be-announced location in Grand Junction.
It is unknown if Colorado Mesa University will be made the venue for Yiannopoulos’ event at a later date, but CMU spokesperson Dana Nunn said that he has not booked the campus for anything as of yesterday.
Yiannopoulos, a consistent critic of feminism, Islam, social justice and political correctness, has had speaking events canceled at multiple college campuses due to his far-right stances.
This past month, a Milo event, “10 Things I Hate About Mexico,” that was to be held at UCLA was scrapped after the student Republican group voted against hosting his appearance.
The event, A Night With MILO, was first made public through Facebook on Feb. 23.
While the tickets went on sale today, March 1, for $40, $55 and $109, the venue will be announced on the day of the event, according to Yiannopoulos’ event website.
He has repeatedly repudiated the term “alt-right”, and you should change the headline accordingly.
He is mostly just a conservative-libertarian. Most of his actual views (as opposed to his satirical material that is intended to be provocative and funny) are fairly mainstream, and sometimes even left-wing.
I’m there! Milo is one of the few celebrities I can actually admire. He have been lied about and attacked endlessly, but he never gives up the fight for free speech!
Alec, The end of your article has “The tickets will went on sale…”
