PAC picks Dunn for concert

On Friday Aug. 23, CMU’s Program Activities Counsel announced that Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn will be the headline performer for this year’s fall concert. The community has been awaiting the exact details of the concert for a few months now, since rumors began spreading that Dunn would be the main act.

Last year CMU hosted 3OH!3 and Macklemore, known for being stylistically electro pop and underground rap, respectively. This year students will be exposed to even more variety in musical genres with a country music concert.

“We have a lot of students who like country and heck, I think a lot of the students who like the first and the second (concerts) also like country,” CMU President Tim Foster said. “I’m fascinated with the breadth of musical interest that you all have.”

Mackenzie Eikamp and members of PAC will be in charge of the concert. They are also looking for volunteers who are interested in helping.

“Students who want to volunteer can attend the weekly meeting I will be holding up until the concert. It is Wednesdays at 2 PM upstairs in the UC student life offices. Everyone is welcome and it is also a way for clubs to make some money,” said Eikamp.

Students can pick up their free ticket at the info desk at the University Center. Tickets for the general public are available online through TicketsWest for $20.

The concert will be on Sept. 21. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the opening act, The Lost Trailers, will begin playing at 7 p.m.
