Entrepreneurship Day

On April 20, Mesa State College with host the sixth annual Entrepreneurship Day. The event, hosted by the Entrepreneurial Business Institute, will feature keynote speaker Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.
E-day will involve breakout sessions and a keynote lunch with Greenfield. Breakout sessions will take place from 8 a.m.-noon. The sessions will include the Student Energy Project, Social Media and Business, Entrepreneurship and the Arts. A full schedule of events is available at www.mesastate.edu/eday/schedule.
The sessions are free and open to the public. The keynote lunch, which begins at noon in the College Center ballroom, requires tickets that are $10 for general admission, $20 for students with lunch and $50 for public admission with lunch. Tickets are sold online.
Students will have an opportunity to participate in the Idea Challenge, a competition designed to give students a chance to pitch a business idea to a panel of judges. The competition includes cash and/or prizes. Students have 60-90 seconds to make a pitch that is attention-grabbing, conveys his/her ideas effectively, and leaves judges wanting to know more. The Idea Challenge will take place at 3:30 p.m. in several rooms in the ACB. More information is available at www.mesastate.edu/eday/idea.
