Dear Mavily,
Great job on making it through the semester. We can finally rest now that the glorious winter break is upon us. To those who are graduating this December, congratulations! We wish you luck on whatever ventures life takes you, whether that be finding work, grad school, taking the opportunity to travel or finally resting a bit. No matter what it is, we are proud of you.
To those who are staying, we have a bit of advice for you—with winter break right around the corner and all that jazz. So buckle up and grab a drink ‘cause you’re about to get life lesson’d.
First of all, be safe. There are a million ways to get sick or injured and we’d really prefer if we didn’t hear about any more car-related incidents along 12th St. Take care of yourself, take a necessary dose of Vitamin C, drive carefully and keep a watchful eye on your loved ones. Safety in numbers!
Second of all, don’t be afraid to find the time for some much needed relaxation, even if you are taking some J-Term classes. You’ve seriously earned it. Just remember to be smart. Use a condom, drink responsibly and for the love of all that is holy, enjoy your time off. These six weeks will fly by and the next thing you know, you’re dragged back into the grind (or the hell-scape as it’s lovingly called).
Third of all, and finally of all, know that you are loved and appreciated. Winter blues are a real thing and we just wanted to remind all of you how amazing you truly are. Remind those around you of their value.
Together, Mavs strong!
We’ll see you in January with even more juicy campus-based tea, so don’t forget to pick up the first edition of the spring semester.
With love,
