RMAC Offensive Player of the Week, Sadie Scoville, helped bring the CMU Volleyball team to its current winning season. Scoville is an outside hitter, and leads the team with 93 kills. The 6’0 pin hitter is an asset to both the team’s offense and its defense. Scoville is a transfer student from CSU Pueblo. There she received the AVCA Honorable Mention All-American Award from coach transfer Austin Albers.
Volleyball has a record of 8-4 after three consecutive home games. On Sept. 26 the team battled MSU Denver for a 3-1 win. This game was remarkable for Coach Albers, as it was his 100th victory in his coaching career. Albers transferred to CMU from CSU Pueblo in spring 2025.
MSU Denver has had two conference game losses in the past five seasons. Their past loss was also against Albers and Scoville while they were both at CSU Pueblo.

On Sept. 30, CMU defeated Western Colorado in a clean sweep (3-0). This was their 24th consecutive win against the Mountaineers since 2012. Scoville had a high of 13 kills in the match.
Freshman Addison Wright (5) started the match as libero. She accumulated 11 digs on the court. She and the team have worked to maintain a growth mindset in order to continue improving their skills as the season continues.
“As we recognize our achievements, we focus mainly on our room for growth. I have a lot of faith in this team and how far we can grow, so I’m excited for the rest of the season,” Wright said.
The team’s next home game is on Friday, Oct. 17 against Colorado Christian University (CCU). The next day, they play CSU Pueblo.
Volleyball last played CCU in fall 2024 during the RMAC Tournament. CMU lost the match 0-3 with two sets of 19-25 and came short on the third at 20-25. This game marked the 2024 team’s season low of kill and dig totals.
The last match against CSU Pueblo resulted in a win on Oct. 11, 2024. The match went to five sets, their first five of the season. At the time, Scoville played for CSU Pueblo. The future transfer totaled 11 kills and 12 digs against the Mavericks.
The addition of Scoville and Albers to the CMU team will make for an exciting rematch against their former team.
