As the spring semester comes to an end it is time to register for the Summer and Fall 2022 semesters and students can do so in a brand new way.
It is out with the old and in with the new as the latest form for Banner, the app used for schedules and registration, is introduced in a new form. It’s called the Schedule Builder.
Schedule Builder works just like the old registration site with new features. It can search for specific professors, find multiple classes at once and show you over 300 different schedule options.
“Be careful, make sure you’re logged in because you can go through and make a schedule without being logged in. I think it’s so many incoming people can kind of get an idea of what classes are offered and when. It’s still new, but it was made for the student to register more seamlessly,” Registration Manager Alissa Whisman said.
To find the schedule builder, look up “Registrar Office” on the Colorado Mesa University website.
A student can even save a schedule option just before registration under the favorites tab. When it comes time to register, load a favorite schedule and hit register to sign up for all those classes at once. No more entering class CRNs one by one; now a student can register with the click of a button.
“The Schedule Builder allows you to save favorites and options, you can add in times that you have practice, you have work, times you don’t want to take classes. There are so many ways to narrow it like mornings and afternoons, most time on campus, most time off-campus,” Whisman said.
Registration opens Monday, April 4 for all seniors, but there is still time to make plans and schedule for the upcoming semester. Registration time tickets can be found by looking at the schedule on the website or by reaching out to Registrar or IRIS offices.
“Definitely check holds. There’s a lot of holds that can stop you from registering for classes like immunization holds, and there’s also holds like English, Math and Essential Learning,” Whisman said. “Talk to your advisor and plan a schedule, then check your registration date to see what timeframes are open to register. Have some options to go for 7 am when you’re ready to go forward and register.”
If students need any help with registration, the Registrar’s office opens at 8 am Monday-Friday to answer calls and emails dealing with registration troubles.
