As of a week ago it was announced that Colorado Mesa University (CMU) will be starting a scholarship program for students in Washington and Oregon. This program will allow students in these two states to pay the equivalent of in-state tuition.
Currently Washington and Oregon are participating states in CMU’s Western Undergraduate Exchange discount program, which lowers their out of state tuition by 50 percent. So instead of paying a full 200 percent of out-of-state tuition, it lowers it to 150 percent. However, this scholarship will change this. The scholarship is intended to bring in academically committed students, and will host requirements for high grade point averages.
These two states are similar to western Colorado. The goal of this program is to bring in even more students from the Pacific Northwest each year.
